Quranology is simply words about Quran. That just means its a discussion among those who are engaging with it as a phenomenon. We encounter Quran in our worlds and we engage with it.
Quranology is about the discussion of Quran as a present text. It also does not see Quran as a religious text as most people do. This mistake translates into a creating a separate space in our minds called ‘religion’ as distinct from simply being. Quran is about human being and what that means. Quranology focusses on the reader as the one who experiences that particular mode of being. You are that reader and can experience it yourself.
